Private Pilot Ground School

Our Private Pilot Ground School is a comprehensive 10-week, 40-hour academic course designed to build the aeronautical knowledge required for private pilot training.

Through live classroom instruction—with online attendance available as needed—students develop a practical understanding of the regulations, principles, systems and decision-making skills they will use throughout flight training and their future flying careers.

This course provides more than preparation for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam. It gives students the structure, instructor access, accountability and foundational knowledge needed to progress more confidently through flight lessons and prepare for the oral and flight portions of the practical test.

Complete the course requirements and pass the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Exam on your first attempt—or we will provide targeted retraining in your areas of weakness and pay for your retest.*

Experienced, Instructor-Led Training

The course is taught by an FAA-certificated Advanced Ground Instructor and Certificated Flight Instructor who formerly served as a United States Air Force Master Instructor.

With more than 5,000 hours of aviation and technical instruction experience in classroom and online environments, your instructor brings a proven ability to explain complex subjects clearly and support students with different learning styles.
